Music and Me

Music tells us about personality, and what it means to one another. It creates relationships, and gives us an opportunity to express our emotions with one another. It plays an important role in my life and tells a lot about me.

The music I was brought up in is from the small town environment. The type of environment where country and rock and role are the heart and soul. Many songs could tell you a lot about me, but the five I chose are where my roots are from.

These five songs you may have heard of, but others you may not have. Some are more recent such as "Huntin, Fishin, and Loving Every day" by Luke Bryan, "I Love This Life" by LOCASH, or maybe Keith Urban's "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16". The other two songs that describe my life are "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen, and "Boys of Fall" by Kenny Chesney. Theses two songs are much older then the first three. Nonetheless all these songs play an important role in my life. They describe my love for the outdoors, my religious background in the small town church I grew up in, they describe the friday night football games I played in underneath the lights. Theses songs are home to me, and mean a lot to me.

Some of you might not be the rock, or country type, but these songs help me look at the positives in life. Every time I'm feeling down I can listen to these songs and it either brightens my day, or changes my perspective of life and that bad days come once in a while, but keep your head up and stay positive. The bigger picture is that life might give you its struggles, but take those struggles and learn from them. Don’t sit back and let life take its toll on you, go out and have a positive attitude towards life. Don’t just let life happen, learn from your mistakes, and cherish every opportunity life gives you.

  1. I really liked your post, especially the last paragraph, well thought out. I too came from a "hick" town and love country music so I can relate. It's amazing what music can do to your mood and how it can help you when you are having a rough day.
